We believe that our ability to connect with others is one of the strongest tools we’ve got in the battle to Beat Fentanyl. See our work come to life in this section.

"Chartwell Young Leaders Make Good Decisions" Workshop

It was a Sunday night in October, carefully selected to coincide with a Ravens Football Bye. The room filled slowly, then all at once. Chartwell Young Leaders, members of a leadership community founded at the Chartwell Country Club, were convening, along with their parents to talk about things no one really wants to talk about... vapes, alcohol, drugs, and Fentanyl poisoning. Super impressive because the young leaders themselves asked for information about substance use and abuse! This was our inaugural student workshop and we couldn't have asked for a better group. Participants ranged from 5th - 12th grade. Throughout the session they researched, reported, competed and worked together. They posed insightful questions and challenged themselves to participate in a variety of activities. Founders Club Members participated in person (JoNya Luckey) and virtually (Maia Gabriel). We laughed a lot and learned a lot and can't wait to do it again! Thanks Chartwell Young Leaders and parents!

LVOF DC Rally 2023

For the past three years, LVOF has organized an annual rally at the Washington Monument and march to the White House to spread awareness and hold government leaders from both sides of the aisle accountable for implementing desperately needed changes in policy. This year, the event was held in the pouring rain. We stood with these brave, bereaved, and on that day, drenched American citizens, many of whom traveled great distances, at great personal cost, to be there. Minimal press showed up and scarce representation from any level of the government. A spattering of news articles posted and aired that weekend and in the days leading up, mostly via local news venues around the country. We've shared a slide show from the event on our home page and in our gallery. If you want to understand the collateral damage of this ongoing, national crisis, please check it out.
